GPS on Cell Phone
No more maps in your car. No more getting directions from the internet. I am not talking about the cars that come with the GPS functionality but software that provides GPS functionality to certain cell phones. Telenav, a Californian company has built software that provides tracking information, directions, traffic information and provides a list of places of interest. It even points you to the cheapest gas station.
Not all cell phones have an in-built GPS receiver. There are some like Blackberry 8800 which do. Other cell phones can be fitted with a GPS receiver which costs $100. The Telenav GPS Navigator system is available for users in the US for a meager $9.99.
Gizmodo has tested this software on a Blackberry 8800. They claim that their experience has been a positive one and the GPS functionality worked like a gem even inside buildings. The setting up process which includes downloading the Navigator software, entering username and passwords was easy and simple.
