Celebrate Earth Day with Green Travel
Earth Day is celebrated across all countries to spread awareness of our dwindling natural environment and also appreciate the natural beauty laid out around us. Each year we celebrate Earth day on April 22nd and has been celebrated for the past 37 years. There is an alternate Earth day celebrated on vernal equinox, the day when night and day are of equal length at any place on earth.
How can a traveler contribute to Mother Nature?
Some of you may have heard the term Green travel which mainly refers to causing less damage to the environment and community during travel. The important aspect is to protect wildlife, conserving plants and respecting local cultures. Walking, bicycling, horse riding etc are some forms of green travel.
Travelers can contribute to the nature by choosing to stay at green hotels. Green hotels follow practices such as reducing water consumption in toilets, making use of energy efficient lighting, recycling plastics and other wastes.
Travelers can also choose to travel to nearer places by bicycles and faraway places by car pooling or availing public transportation in a view of conserving fuel which add toxic gases into the Earth’s atmosphere.
Every one of us can contribute to the cause of preserving what is left around us. Let us protect our nature while we can and appreciate the beauty and comfort God has given us.
