Space Travel for the Super Rich
As people get richer, they would want to jump into a bandwagon reserved only for the elite. The super rich want to try their hand in something that would be unreachable for almost everyone. Space traveling is by no means a commercial venture(as of now) and this is exactly what they are looking for.
Telecommunications entrepreneur and X Prize sponsor Anousheh Ansari was the first privately funded female space traveler in September of 2006 when she spent a week on International Space Station. She must have spent millions of pounds for this once-in-a-lifetime trip.
She spoke to Wired last week and has shared some of the video clips shot while she was in space. She is extremely passionate about space that she is willing to let go of her husband if she is offered a one way ticket to space. I support her views on different space projects to be undertaken and some change in policies. Space travel could be for the super rich but let them make a difference to us as they are the only ones who can.
