Hover Bed: The Latest Expensive Sensation
If you are a movie freak like me, you would have seen plenty of hover boards in Back to the Future II and III. Hover boards are no imagination; likewise are the hover beds. Janjaap Ruijssenaars, a Dutchman has designed a hover bed that stays afloat on air with absolutely no support.
This Dutch designer was inspired by the monolith in the 1968 movie - 2001: A Space Odyssey. The science behind the floatation is the magnetic force. As we all know, magnetic like poles repel. Hover bed has four magnets on four corners and four other magnets with identical poles are placed on the floor. The magnetic repelling force created by these magnets lets the bed suspend freely in air. The height of the bed could be adjusted by the strength of the magnets.
This hover bed is absolutely safe for sleeping and is designed to support up to 2000 pounds. Just don’t try to get in between the bed and floor with any metal object; you might not like the force. This bed is priced at £750,000 and people who can afford to travel to Mars can buy this bed.

I would drink wine, sitting on the edge of the monolith bed. Probably looking at some El Greco artwork across the hall of my spacious abode. Then reach my hand over to Wendy’s sleeping form.
