		<description>It appears that you pedal the bike by rotating a band or chain in the large ring behind the pedals.

That would then either turn the wheel directly by friction, or drive a gear hub that would transfer power to the wheel by a shaft, similar to some motorbikes.

You pedal forward, the enclosed chain or belt moves backwards, and then the power is transfered into forward motion at the wheel. Even a re-inforced rubber drive belt could be used, as they are strong enough to be used instead of chains on some Harley Davidson bikes.</description>
