Solar Powered Headphones
As the earth gets warmer, as the fear within us rises, inventors look for alternates that don’t harm the nature. One of the main sources of energy which beams down upon us half the day, the sun, is being harnessed in every way possible. Few months back I had covered a solar charger which could be used for charging several electronic devices. Today I have yet another entertainment device which we all use that is powered by the sun. Check out these AM/FM headphones which can work all night long once fully charged.
Soltronics solar powered headphones can play radio for 18 hours with just 2 hours of solar charging. A solar film in embedded on top on the headphones which charges a Ni-MH AAA battery which is placed in one of the ear pieces. It is expensively priced at $49.95 at Scientifics.
These headphones could well replace iPod nanos for runners and other athletes. It also looks like a great gadget to be used while on a camping trip. But, I am not sure if a radio signal signal would be made available on camping grounds.
