We have seen car chargers, solar chargers and now a company in Europe plans to harness the power from the wind to charge cell phones. Orange, a European mobile giant has contracted GotWind.org to build a mobile charging device which runs off wind power. GW was contacted by Orange through their website.

GotWind.org has built a prototype and displayed the concept of a wind-turbine cell phone charger. If the prototype becomes a reality, GW could bag a huge contract which could change their lives forever.

The prototype constructed is designed to be placed on top of dome style tents and is expected to fully charge cell phones in 2 hours.
